Winning Basketball: Drills and Fundamentals
Long before there was an NBA, there was professional basketball, and as far back as 1913 its most active incubator was Indiana. Todd Gould, who focuses his engaging chronicle on the barnstorming exploits of three Indianapolis clubs and the Fort Wayne (later Detroit) Pistons, makes it clear that what passed as professional then bears little relation to what is considered to be professional today. The salaries were small, the conditions less than ideal, and while the players, like all top athletes, burned to win, it was the quality of the show that was remembered long after the final score. Perhaps the most famous pro from this colorful era, UCLA coaching legend John Wooden, provides the kind of fascinating first-person witness that elevates good history into lively--and living--narrative.
The Kentucky Basketball Encyclopedia is the most comprehensive book ever assembled on the history of University of Kentucky basketball. Written in a unique, easy-to-read style that brings to life the exploits of Wildcat teams and players, the book includes details about "The Fabulous Five," "The Fiddlin' Five," "Rupp's Runts," "The Unforgettables," Jamal Mashburn, Rex Chapman, Melvin Turpin, Kenny Walker, and more. Coaching greats Adolph Rupp, Joe B. Hall, Eddie Sutton, Rick Pitino, and Tubby Smith are also featured. This is a must read for all Kentucky basketball fans.

Customer Review: Excellent For Women
As coach of a women's basketball team, I highly recommend this book for WOMEN players, and their coaches, as well. The instructions are clear and concise and extremely thorough. From the first chapter on the importance of flexibility and warm-up to the year-round conditioning calendar at the end, this book is an invaluable guide.
Customer Review: good for lacrosse players
I gave my copy to one of my lacrosse players. Now, most of the team uses Emma's book for their workouts. Too bad for Amazon they're too cheap to buy their own copy. Emma takes a topic most of the teens are too macho to ask questions about and puts them on a logical program.
When Langham Town gets a new coach, the number one ranked team begins to feel insecure. Jim and Ali discover a far more sinister plot when they research their rivals.

Conditioning for Basketball contains everything you need to know about preparing yourself to compete above the rim!" -- Kenny "Sky" Walker 1989 NBA Slam Dunk Champ "This book is must reading for coaches and players of all ages. I was particularly pleased to find that the authors didn't ignore the special needs of female athletes." -- Mark Asanovich Strength Coach Anoka High School (MN) 1992 Class M State Basketball Champs "I liked it. The book is sharp and perceptive, attuned to what I call the new world approach to strength training." -- Herman L. Masin Editor Scholastic Coach Magazine
Customer Review: THIS BOOK CHANGED MY SON'S LIFE
I purchased this book for my son during his sophomore year in HS. He was a scrawny 6'2" forward who had been cut from his HS team the year before. Within 6 months he had transformed his body and his game, consistently being the strongest and fastest player on the court. He followed this book religiously through high school and it earned him a number of individual and team awards his senior year, as well as a full scholarship to play Div 1A basketball in college. He still uses it as a guide today.
I cannot recommend this book enough
